Baidu encyclopedia crosses 1 million entries

The English Wikipedia has around 2.14 million
entries. Baidu Baike began in April 2006, and
from all accounts, should overtake Wikipedia
soon.

There have been rumblings within Wikipedia
at the clear signs of them becoming the
second-best. They claim Baidu stole their
content. Which is odd since those who contribute
to Wikipedia do so under the belief information
should be free, not paid for, or locked up,
either by Britannica or Wikipedia.
